Having been active in the baking industry for the last 31 years, I wondered, “How can I give back and have the most positive impact on the baking industry?” Selfishly, I also wanted to promote what I believe to be an incredibly disruptive technology that will help a wide range of bakers and food processors.
So, I looked around at the industry associations and decided that The American Society of Baking (ASB) was the best vehicle for my company. And, let me tell you: I have not been disappointed. The level of professionalism I’ve encountered has been unmatched and the relationships I’ve founded have been remarkable.
For bakers, by bakers
ASB exists for us! It’s an intricate network of professional contacts and supporters that have time and time again helped advance careers, ideas, and the baking industry. It’s the central source of information for industry best practices, and the latest tools and tactics. I’ve made many key business connections and friends in ASB. Unlike other baking associations, which consist of company members, ASB is here only for us—the professionals of the wholesale baking industry.
What does a membership look like with ASB?
ASB is built on the principles of community, integrity, education and leadership. Those cornerstones are evident in what they offer to our community, especially through membership. A few of the key perks include:
- Speaking opportunities offering recognition as an industry expert.
- 24/7 networking with industry leaders through a virtual member directory.
- Year-round professional educational opportunities.
- Scholarship opportunities for employees and students.
- Receive registration discounts to ASB’s annual meeting, BakingTech.
Baking Tech
Baking Tech is one of the highlights of the year and industry, with three days of technical presentations, networking events and a 200+ exhibitor marketplace. This annual conference is a wonderful opportunity to mix, mingle and network with peers and game changers.
The next BakingTech is scheduled for Feb. 25 – 27, 2018, in Chicago at the Hilton Chicago hotel.
Joining the ASB Family
Starting an membership with ASB is easy. And the benefits are many. If you’re looking to invest into the baking community and receive support in the process, then visit asbe.org to easily join online, or email a membership application (PDF). If you have any questions about ASB or a membership, you can contact ASB’s Membership Manager, Amanda Gonzalez, at agonzalez@asbe.org or 1.800.713.0462, ext. 3, for personal assistance.
